Rui Bing joined KTA in 2024 as Director of Development. She works alongside staff, community partners, and stakeholders to meet KTA’s annual goals and mission of ensuring the economic viability of small-scale farms and ranches in California.
Her non-profit career has focused on improving the lives of farmers, fishers, and workers. At Fair Trade USA, she resourced and co-designed programs for agricultural and seafood producers globally. She also managed the Fair Trade Capture Seafood Program and led an international team to increase market access and financial returns to over 8,000 people. Most recently, Rui Bing served as Development Director for the East Bay Community Law Center in Berkeley and the Lavender Youth Recreation and Information Center in San Francisco.
Rui Bing grew up in New York, in a family headed by a professional chef and baker who refused to allow children in the kitchen. As a result, she ate well, learned to observe patiently, and continues to remain committed to supporting the everyday people who labor to make good food possible. As an adult, she enjoys outdoor swimming, spending time with family and friends, and cooking leisurely.
