Children Under the Age of 13

Our Services are not intended for use by minors, and no one under age 13 may provide any information to the Services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Information You Provide to Us

The information we collect on or through our Services may include:

  1. If you are a client of our organization, we may collect a variety of information, including your name, contact information (including address, phone number and email), payment information, language preference and proficiency, sexual orientation, gender, date of birth, marital status, education level, nationality, race/ethnicity, disability or veteran status, income, loan and credit records, business files and financial statements, communications between us, and any other information you provide to us or that we obtain from third parties while providing services (including from public records, third parties you may authorize us to speak with, and the like). The type of information we collect varies depending on the situation and may include information about our clients’ employees, customers, vendors, and other information relevant to an engagement.

  2. If you are a vendor, supplier, or business partner, we may receive contact and payment information from you and/or your employees in connection with that relationship. 

  3. If you are an employee or seeking employment with us, we may collect a variety of information, including your name, contact information, payment information, date of birth, social security number, employment and education history, and employee files.  

  4. If you are a donor, we may collect your contact information, home and/or work address, employment and education history, income, and donation history.

  5. If you sign up to receive our newsletter or other promotional communications, we may collect your contact information.

  6. If you sign up for our SMS services, we collect your cell phone number, your carrier’s name, and the date, time and content of your messages, as well as other information that you provide.

  7. If you participate in an Online Meeting, as discussed in our Terms of Use, we may create audiovisual recordings and transcripts (including via artificial intelligence) of such meetings, which would include any information that you have provided as a participant in that meeting (e.g., your name, likeness, and other information or content you may have contributed). 

  8. We may collect personal information (such as name, address, company affiliation, phone number, and email address) if you choose to register or RSVP for an event hosted or sponsored by our organization. 

  9. We collect information you provide by filling in forms on our Services, including information you may provide when subscribing to our newsletter or mailing list or taking a survey. 

  10. If you choose to contact us for any reason, we will collect your contact information, your name, the content of communications between us, and information regarding any follow-up actions taken. 

  11. You also may provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, "posted") on public areas of the Service, or transmitted to other users of the Service or third parties (collectively, "User Contributions"). Your User Contributions are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk, and we cannot control the actions of other users of the Service with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.

Information We Receive From Third Parties

We may receive personal information about you from other sources, including through client referrals, and through our service providers (such as payment processors and third parties that help us update, expand and analyze our records; host and power the Services; identify and communicate with clients, donors, and others; or prevent or detect fraud). 

By way of example, we may use, and/or link from our website to, services including, but not limited to, the following:

  • We use Breezy HR to receive and process job applications. If you provide information such as your contact information, work and educational background, and the like, Breezy HR will provide it to us.  

  • We use FormAssembly and Mailchimp to power forms and/or surveys on our Services; Mailchimp also delivers our newsletters, as discussed below. These services provide us with your form/survey responses, as well as contact information, such as email addresses, that you chose to share. Mailchimp also provides analytical data including date and time associated with each open and click, as well as demographic information including location, gender and age. 

  • SMS service providers such as Mogli to deliver text messages to you in accordance with our Messaging Terms, if you sign up to receive them. 

  • Our donation service provider, Mightycause.com, will provide us with information concerning your donations, including your name, address, email, any other optional data provided by you during the donation process and transaction accounting details of the contribution. 

  • We use Google Analytics to learn about how users interact with our website; you can learn about their privacy practices at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We may also receive information about you from social media platforms, for example when you interact with us on those platforms or access our social media content. We may use Google Workspace and other Google apps or tools to communicate or collaborate with you via email, shared documents, forms, and video meetings, and we will have access to information that you submit to those apps. Your use of Google applications, as with any third party application, is subject to that third party’s terms and privacy policy. 

Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies

As you navigate through and interact with our Services, we and our service providers may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:

  1. Details of your visits to our Services, including traffic data, location data, date and time of access, referring URL, web pages visited, time spent on each page, downloads and clicks, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on the Services.

  2. Information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.

We may maintain or associate the data we collect automatically with personal information we collect in other ways or receive from third parties. This information helps us to improve our Services and to deliver a better and more personalized service, including by enabling us to:

Some content or applications on the Services are served and/or provided by third-parties, including content providers, hosting providers, application providers, and other service providers. Third-party cookies and web beacons used on the Services include:

  • We use Google Analytics to help us understand how users interact with our site, so when you use our website your web browser may automatically send certain information to Google, including the URL of the web pages you’re visiting, and your IP address.   • Our mailing lists, certain surveys we may conduct, and our email newsletters are powered by Mailchimp, which uses cookies and/or tracking pixels, including via sign-up form on our website, to recognize users, including when recipients have opened an email or clicked certain links. These technologies record information including your form submissions, email address, IP address, date, and time associated with each open and click, as well as location, gender and age. How We Respond to “Do Not Track” Browser Signals

At this time, our Services does not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals. 

How We Use Your Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information:

  1. To provide business advising services to our clients, and to determine service eligibility.

  2. To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us, including through our newsletters and SMS services, if you sign up to receive them.

  3. To present our Services and their contents to you, and to improve the Services, including through use of analytics.

  4. For marketing purposes, including to send alerts, newsletters and other communications to our clients, donors and supporters; and to register you for, and confirm your attendance at, events.

  5. To manage our business relationships with clients, vendors, business partners, and our contractors and third-party service providers, including processing invoices and payments, and sending communications related to our Services.

  6. To develop, manage, and expand our relationships with donors.

To contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business, including IT and communications service providers (including data storage, web hosting, Online Meeting hosting, email, and SMS service providers, such as Mogli, marketing and research providers, event partners, and payment processors.

  5. If we post, distribute, or otherwise share an audiovisual recording or transcript of an Online Meeting, as described in our Terms of Use, it may include an attendee list or other include information that you provided as a participant in the meeting, such as your name, likeness, and other information or content you contributed to the meeting. 

  1. To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Kitchen Table Advisors’ assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Kitchen Table Advisors about our Services users is among the assets transferred.

  3. Donor acknowledgment. We publicly acknowledge our donors. You may request that your donation be anonymous by sending an email request to development@kitchentableadvisors.org or, if you are donating through an online platform, by utilizing preferences on the platform.

  4. SMS services. If you have signed up to receive our SMS services, you can cancel at any time by texting "STOP”, “CANCEL”, or “UNSUBSCRIBE" to our phone number. You can learn more about our SMS services by reviewing our Messaging Terms.

  5. We do not control third parties' collection or use of your information to, for example, serve interest-based advertising. However these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. Please review their privacy policies for more information. In addition, you can opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI") on the NAI's website at https://thenai.org/opt-out, and from the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) at https://optout.aboutads.info.

Your California Privacy Rights

California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our Services that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
