Liz spent half of her childhood on the California central coast in San Luis Obispo and the other half on the East Coast on Cape Cod. These bicoastal experiences coupled with growing up in a biracial household instilled a love for making connections and building bridges. Being surrounded by farmland, redwoods, cranberry bogs and oceans instilled a love for food, wilderness, and water. She received her B.A. in International Relations with a focus on Global Environmental Politics from American University which helped inspire her path to food and sustainable agriculture. Inspirations grew from working in restaurants, supporting farmer cooperatives overseas, and learning about agroecology and farmer-to-farmer organizing for food sovereignty in Puerto Rico.

Most recently, Liz was a Senior Philanthropic Advisor at Tides where she worked at the nexus of funders and changemakers advancing social justice movements around the globe. There, she designed and managed grantmaking programs that centered the needs of climate justice organizations building power in communities most impacted by climate change. What Liz loved most about this work was moving money into communities building local power to drive long-term impact.

Liz is humbled to be part of Kitchen Table Advisors where she combines her relationship-building and resource organizing skills with her passions for food and equity to build just and resilient regional food systems.
